Fire at Luton Airport: all flights cancelled

Tuesday evening at Luton Airport was marked by a serious incident. A large fire broke out in one of the parking lots, causing thick smoke and resulting in the cancellation of all flights from this strategic airport near London. Luton, serving numerous connections to and from Poland, is an important transport hub.

The fire, which erupted on the third floor of the multi-level airport parking lot, required the involvement of 10 fire brigade units that conducted firefighting operations throughout the night. Currently, all flights at London Luton Airport are suspended at least until 16:00 Polish time. This decision results from ongoing efforts to control the fire situation.

Unfortunately, due to the circumstances, all flights that have already been suspended since late Tuesday evening will be canceled at least until 16:00 Polish time. However, it cannot be ruled out that the suspension of air operations will last longer, and further decisions will depend on the progress of the rescue operation and the safety assessment of the airport.

Carriers and passengers are advised to follow airport information and airline announcements regarding the dynamic situation at Luton Airport.
