PKP Intercity cuts travel times to Podlasie. Białystok in 90 minutes, Suwałki in 3 hours 34 minutes

PKP Intercity is promoting spring travel to Podlasie with shorter journey times and more direct services. Passengers can now reach Białystok from Warsaw in 90 minutes on four Sprinter trains, while IC Hańcza covers the route from Warsaw to Suwałki in 3 hours and 34 minutes.

The biggest change is on the Warsaw–Białystok corridor. Four Sprinter services run in the morning and afternoon. Departures from Białystok are scheduled for 7:33, 11:33, 17:33 and 19:33. From Warszawa Centralna, trains leave at 6:57, 8:57, 14:57 and 18:57. The timetable makes day trips, weekend breaks and longer stays easier to plan without a transfer.

More direct services to Białystok

Białystok has also gained a stronger position in PKP Intercity’s long-distance network. After an extension of its route, IC Korfanty now links the city with Gliwice and Bielsko-Biała, among other destinations. For passengers from Silesia, that means a direct trip to Podlasie without changing trains.

There are now also two direct trains from Kraków to Białystok: IC Nida and IC Hańcza. On IC Hańcza, the journey takes 4 hours and 38 minutes. That places the service among the faster options on this route.

More options for Suwałki

The offer also covers the Suwałki area. IC Hańcza reaches Suwałki from Warsaw in 3 hours and 34 minutes. The region has also gained a third direct connection with Warsaw and a second one with Poznań and Szczecin. These services are operated by IC Wigry on the Mockava–Szczecin route.

For passengers heading further into north-eastern Poland, the changes mean more departure options and fewer transfers. That matters most in spring and summer, when demand for travel to the Suwałki region usually increases.

Shorter journeys from Warmia and Masuria too

PKP Intercity also points to better access from neighbouring regions. Travel time between Białystok and Olsztyn Główny now ranges from 3 hours 10 minutes to 3 hours 26 minutes, depending on the train and travel date. The route is served by IC Rybak and TLK Biebrza.

The trip from Giżycko to Białystok is even shorter at 1 hour and 38 minutes. That makes Białystok a practical rail hub for travellers combining Podlasie with Warmia and Masuria in one itinerary.
