Lufthansa Strike on April 10, 2026

Lufthansa and Lufthansa CityLine Strike on April 10, 2026
On Friday, April 10, 2026, the German carrier Lufthansa will face another operational challenge. The cabin crew union UFO has announced a one-day strike that will affect both the main Lufthansa airline and its regional subsidiary, Lufthansa CityLine.
Scope of the strike and support for travelers
The strike primarily concerns cabin crew, meaning its impact will be felt mainly in flight operations carried out by Lufthansa and Lufthansa CityLine. The airline has stated that it is working intensively to minimize the effects of the protest. To this end, some flights will be operated by other airlines within the Lufthansa Group and by partner airlines.
Which airlines are not affected by the strike?
An important piece of information for travelers is that flights operated by the following airlines will continue without disruption: Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, SWISS, Air Dolomiti, Discover Airlines, Edelweiss Air, and Lufthansa City Airlines. For passengers, this means that some connections—especially international ones—may operate as scheduled.
Information for passengers
Travelers whose flights are canceled or changed will receive appropriate notifications, provided their contact details are included in the booking system. In such cases, standard procedures for schedule changes (the so-called Schedule Change/Irregularity Policy) will apply.
Additionally, for passengers traveling on domestic routes within Germany whose flights are not canceled, a special goodwill policy (TWP 2607) has been introduced, allowing greater flexibility in changing reservations.
