Modlin gets new night trains. Easier access to the airport

From March 30, passengers using Warsaw Modlin Airport have been able to use new night rail connections. The change is meant to improve access after late arrivals and make travel easier for residents of the region as well. According to the airport’s management, this is a response to the growing needs of passengers using late-night flights.

New services from Modlin station and from Warsaw

As part of the timetable changes, Koleje Mazowieckie, the regional rail operator in the Mazovia region, introduced additional late-night services. Trains from Modlin railway station to Warsaw now depart at 12:35 a.m. and 1:45 a.m. A new connection from Warszawa Wschodnia station to Modlin was also launched at 12:17 a.m.

An important change for passengers on late flights

The new offer is intended to improve service for passengers using the airport late at night. Until recently, people arriving on late-night flights had limited access to public transport and often had to arrange their own trip to Warsaw.

Passengers now have a more predictable alternative in the form of rail transport available at night. According to the airport authorities, this solution improves the airport’s accessibility and strengthens its role in the region’s transport system.

A new railway line to the airport is planned

The source also states that PKP PLK, the company responsible for railway infrastructure in Poland, has announced a tender for the construction of a new railway line from Modlin to Warsaw Modlin Airport. The new double-track section is expected to be 5 kilometres long and to be completed within 30 months of the contract being signed.

If the schedule is maintained, trains are expected to reach the airport directly in 2029.
