High-speed internet on board 850 aircraft

From the second half of 2026, Lufthansa Group passengers will be able to use the internet on board aircraft. Thanks to a partnership with Starlink, all airlines within the group – a total of around 850 aircraft – will be equipped with high-speed broadband connectivity, ensuring smooth and stable service.

The new feature will significantly enhance travel comfort. Passengers will be able to seamlessly use streaming platforms for movies and music, work in the cloud, and access other online applications during the flight. Importantly, internet access will be free of charge for all travelers, regardless of travel class.

Starlink technology

Starlink technology is based on an advanced satellite network and provides one of the fastest in-flight internet connections available. It is a key element of Lufthansa Group’s strategy, which consistently invests in the development of premium services and improving the overall passenger experience, especially in its anniversary year.

When will passengers be able to use onboard internet?

The rollout of the new system will begin in the second half of 2026 and will be implemented gradually. The goal is to equip the entire Lufthansa Group fleet by 2029. This will give travelers worldwide access to stable and high-speed internet during their flight, regardless of their destination.

This new initiative aligns with the global trend of digitalizing airline services and shows that the future of travel is not only about comfort on the ground, but also full connectivity in the air.
