Although winter is still ahead of us, Austrian Airlines is already inviting passengers to start planning their summer holidays. In its summer 2026 flight schedule, Austria’s national carrier will launch as many as seven brand-new destinations, further expanding its European route network. From the sunny coast of Spain, through the Greek islands and the Balkans, to the Norwegian fjords and the volcanic Azores – there is something for everyone.

7 new routes

Viva la Costa! Alicante is the essence of a Mediterranean summer. A stroll along the palm-lined Explanada, tapas in the atmospheric Barrio Santa Cruz, or sea views from Santa Bárbara Castle create perfect conditions for relaxation. Flights twice weekly from 25 March 2026.

Bilbao, a city of art and flavors. Modern icons such as the Guggenheim Museum and the Zubizuri Bridge blend seamlessly with Basque tradition and outstanding cuisine – pintxos around Plaza Nueva are a must on every visit. Flights twice weekly from 25 March 2026.

The heart of Corsica, Bastia enchants visitors with its Mediterranean climate, port-city atmosphere, and location between mountains and sea. Bastia is an ideal base for discovering one of Europe’s most diverse islands. Flights twice weekly from 2 June to 26 September 2026.

Bergen, known as the colorful gateway to the Norwegian fjords. The city combines urban culture with the raw beauty of nature – from the historic Bryggen district to cruises deep into the fjords. Flights three times weekly from 1 June to 18 September 2026.

A true Balkan gem. Crystal-clear waters, historic churches, and a southern atmosphere make Ohrid one of Europe’s best-kept secrets. Flights twice weekly from 14 May to 22 October 2026.

Mytilini and Lesbos at their purest. Olive groves, local ouzo, and unspoiled bays attract lovers of authentic Greece and tranquil holidays. Flights once weekly from 15 June to 28 September 2026.

Ponta Delgada – island magic in the middle of the Atlantic. Green volcanic landscapes, turquoise lakes, and blooming hydrangeas make the Azores a paradise for nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet. Flights once weekly from 30 June to 8 September 2026.

Record summer offering

In the summer 2026 season, Austrian Airlines will offer a total of 133 destinations:

113 short- and medium-haul routes,

20 long-haul routes.

The new connections strengthen Vienna’s position as one of the key aviation hubs in Central Europe and confirm the airline’s ambition to meet the growing demand for leisure travel and city breaks.
