Sofitel Warsaw Victoria celebrates 50 years of luxury and Warsaw history

Sofitel Warsaw Victoria, one of Poland’s most iconic hotels, has launched its 50th-anniversary celebrations under the theme “Extraordinary for 5 Decades.” The jubilee year marks a journey through the history of a place that has defined luxury, elegance, and social life in Warsaw for half a century.
The hotel, opened in 1976 as Poland’s first five-star property, became a symbol of Western sophistication during the communist era. Designed by a Polish-Swedish team in the shape of an “H” for hospitality, it hosted global stars like Elton John, Ronald Reagan, and Stevie Wonder. Its interiors appeared in cult films such as Miś and A Real Pain.
The anniversary year opened with a spectacular New Year’s Eve revival of the legendary “Czarny Kot” nightclub from the 1970s and 80s, featuring a gourmet menu and dance show by Agustin Egurrola’s Volt group.
Under the motto “Elegant Evolution,” each month of 2026 will highlight a different chapter of the hotel’s story—from archive memories to modern interpretations of luxury. The hotel also continues its sustainability efforts, holding a Green Key certificate and awards such as the World Travel Awards and LUXE Global Awards.
Sofitel Warsaw Victoria remains a symbol of refined hospitality, blending French art de vivre with Polish warmth for the next generation of guests.
