United Airlines and Spotify create a new dimension of inflight entertainment

United Airlines and Spotify Launch Partnership – A New Dimension of Inflight Entertainment

United Airlines have announced a unique partnership with Spotify, bringing one of the biggest updates to their inflight entertainment system in history. Passengers can now enjoy Spotify podcasts, music playlists, and audiobooks on over 130,000 seatback screens across more than 680 United aircraft.

Spotify as a New Inflight Entertainment Category

Spotify content has been added to United’s inflight system as a completely new category called “Spotify”, replacing the previous “Audio” section in the main menu. Passengers have access to four dedicated channels: Podcasts, Video Podcasts, Audiobooks, and Playlists.

In the coming months, most United aircraft will also feature a dedicated “Featured Spotify” channel, where all Spotify content will be grouped together for quick and easy access.

Top-Quality Video and Audio

The partnership includes aircraft equipped with modern 4K seatback screens, offering some of the best visual experiences in the airline industry. United emphasizes that this is another step toward personalizing and modernizing inflight entertainment to match passengers’ everyday habits.

Gate-to-Gate Spotify Streaming

An additional benefit for travelers is the ability to stream Spotify uninterrupted on their personal devices aboard United aircraft equipped with Starlink connectivity. With high-speed satellite internet, passengers can listen to and watch Spotify content from boarding to landing.

To use this feature, travelers simply log in to their MileagePlus® account, accept the Starlink terms of service, and open the Spotify app – just like at home.

A New Era of Entertainment in the Skies

The United Airlines and Spotify partnership sets a new standard for inflight entertainment, merging the world of aviation with the world’s most popular audio platform. For passengers, it means more choice, convenience, and access to favorite content even at cruising altitude.
