ITA Airways becomes a new member of PartnerPlusBenefit

ITA Airways joins PartnerPlusBenefit – more benefits for companies

ITA Airways has officially joined PartnerPlusBenefit, the corporate bonus program of the Lufthansa Group airlines. This marks another important step in the integration of the Italian carrier into the Lufthansa Group, bringing companies and business travelers even more opportunities, flexibility, and benefits.

ITA Airways in the Lufthansa Group – a new chapter of cooperation

With ITA Airways joining the Lufthansa Group, the range of available flight connections is expanding significantly. Thanks to codeshare agreements, passengers gain greater freedom in planning their journeys, better-coordinated flight schedules, and shorter transfer times between hubs.

The Lufthansa Group also gains a sixth hub – the five-star Rome Fiumicino Airport, which is becoming an important transfer point in Southern Europe. The full integration of ITA Airways is taking place in phases and includes, among other things, the planned accession of the airline to the Star Alliance.

An expanded route network and new destinations

Together with ITA Airways, Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Air Dolomiti are dynamically expanding their route networks. ITA brings a unique network of routes within Italy to the partnership, and once all codeshare agreements are fully implemented, passengers will gain access to more than 260 new destinations worldwide.

ITA Airways in PartnerPlusBenefit – more points for companies

The inclusion of ITA Airways in PartnerPlusBenefit means tangible benefits for corporate customers.

Key information at a glance:

  • program members earn Benefit points on all flights operated by ITA Airways (excluding flights sold in the USA, Canada, Argentina, Mexico, Japan, and Central America),
  • points are credited automatically via the OSI code,
  • currently, Benefit points cannot be redeemed for ITA Airways flights,
  • credit card tracking is not available for ITA Airways flights.

Miles & More and Volare – more options for frequent flyers

The new cooperation also brings benefits for individual passengers. Miles & More members can earn and redeem miles as well as status points on ITA Airways flights. Volare members, in turn, gain the opportunity to earn and redeem points on flights operated by Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa, and SWISS.

Travel comfort: a shared lounge network

The lounge offerings of ITA Airways and the Lufthansa Group are being gradually harmonized. First and Business Class passengers as well as status customers gain access to a broad network comprising 23 proprietary lounges, 10 partner lounges, and more than 100 third-party lounges worldwide. This represents a clear increase in comfort and a wider choice at airports.

Terminal changes and smoother connections

From 30 March 2025, significant terminal changes will take place at Lufthansa Group hubs. In Frankfurt, ITA Airways will move to Terminal 1, while in Munich it will relocate from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2, significantly reducing transfer times. At other Group hubs, as well as at Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate airports, ITA already uses the same terminal areas as Lufthansa Group airlines.

Towards Star Alliance

ITA Airways has begun the process of leaving the SkyTeam alliance – its benefits will remain available to passengers until May 2025. The airline’s goal is to join Star Alliance at the beginning of 2026, which will further strengthen the global offering of the Lufthansa Group.

The inclusion of ITA Airways in PartnerPlusBenefit is an important step for corporate customers and business travelers – more connections, more points, and even greater consistency within one of the world’s strongest airline groups.
