Lublin gains a new route as Ryanair launches flights to Sicily

Ryanair will open a seasonal connection from Lublin Airport to Trapani in Sicily. Flights start on 31 March 2026 and will operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The airport says the decision responds to growing interest in southern European destinations.
A new destination from Lublin
Flights to Trapani, a city in western Sicily, will run until 24 October 2026. The airport highlights that the route gives residents quick access to a popular island known for warm weather, beaches and historic sites. Trapani also lies close to attractions such as the Zingaro nature reserve and the town of Erice.
Airport’s response and regional impact
Krzysztof Matuszczyk, president of Lublin Airport, noted that Sicily is one of the most recognisable tourist destinations in the Mediterranean. He added that the new route makes travel to the island easier for residents without the need to reach more distant airports.
Another link to Italy
The Trapani service will be the second Italian destination from Lublin. Passengers already have access to flights to Bergamo, which offers easy travel to Milan and northern Italy. This connection is also operated by Ryanair.
A record year for the airport
Lublin Airport recorded its strongest summer season to date. In August it handled 61,115 passengers, while in October the figure reached 38,844 — an increase of 14.32 percent compared with October 2024. Last month also saw 488 aircraft operations, up 34 percent year on year. The airport attributes this growth to an unusually long charter season, lasting from late March to 29 October.
