The World’s Best Connected Airports 2025: Heathrow Still Leads

Najlepiej skomunikowane lotniska świata 2025. Heathrow znów na szczycie

Air travel has never been more interconnected. The latest OAG Megahubs Index 2025 reveals the airports that serve as the true crossroads of global aviation. London Heathrow tops the list for the third year in a row, but Istanbul and several Asian hubs are rising fast.

Heathrow (LHR) once again takes the crown as the world’s most connected airport, offering over 59,000 possible flight connections in just six hours and linking 226 destinations across six continents. Despite slot limits and crowded airspace, it remains unmatched thanks to efficient management and strong airline partnerships.

Istanbul Airport (IST) jumps from 8th to 2nd place, reflecting a 25% increase in flight connections. With Turkish Airlines serving 79% of all flights, the new airport has quickly become a strategic transfer point between Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS) ranks third, while Frankfurt (FRA) and Kuala Lumpur (KUL) share fourth place. Each demonstrates how smart infrastructure and balanced airline networks can sustain growth even under environmental and operational constraints.

The OAG 2025 ranking highlights a shifting aviation landscape: Europe remains strong, but the center of gravity is clearly moving eastward. For travelers from Poland and Central Europe, the best-connected hubs – London, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt – remain the most reliable gateways to the world.
