PKP Intercity to Launch 17 New International Routes from December 2025

Starting December 14, 2025, Polish rail operator PKP Intercity will introduce 17 new international routes. The 2025/2026 timetable will feature a total of 57 cross-border connections, including services to Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, and Ukraine. In total, passengers will have access to 555 routes – 527 year-round and 28 seasonal, 50 more than last year.
New destinations and the return of long-awaited routes
The biggest changes involve connections with Germany. In cooperation with Deutsche Bahn, 17 route pairs will operate, including new services to Berlin and the debut line to Leipzig, reopening the Węgliniec–Horka route after an 18-year break.
Connections to Austria and the Czech Republic
Austria will gain a new train, IC Prater, linking Kraków and Vienna, while the IC Danubius route will extend from Poznań to Vienna. For the Czech Republic, seven daily trains will run from Kraków, Warsaw, and Katowice to Prague, including the new IC Olza service.
Faster travel to Lithuania and expanded service to Ukraine
Three trains will connect Warsaw with Vilnius – Hańcza, Wigry, and Jaćwing – cutting travel time by about an hour. Cooperation with Ukraine’s national railway Ukrzaliznytsia will raise the number of daily cross-border connections to 13, including a new route to Kharkiv.
Record-breaking number of routes
The new timetable will include a record 555 services. PKP Intercity highlights that the expansion aims to make Polish rail travel more integrated with Europe – convenient, ecological, and reliable.
