Kreuzerlfrühstück and Regional Flavors in Austrian Airlines Business Class

Austrian Airlines Brings Back the Iconic “Kreuzerlfrühstück” and Highlights Local Flavors in Business Class
Austrian Airlines once again proves that outstanding quality and Austrian style can go hand in hand – even high above the clouds. The Austrian flag carrier is introducing a series of new features for Business Class passengers on long-haul flights. The most notable is the return of the legendary “Kreuzerlfrühstück” breakfast, allowing travelers to start their day in a truly personalized way.
From now on, passengers can create their own favorite breakfast by checking off selected items on the menu card. The chosen dishes are then served alongside the standard breakfast components, offering an even more individualized and comfortable experience on board.
A New Menu Card and an Austrian Spirit in Every Glass
Alongside a refreshed menu design and structure, Austrian Airlines is also introducing a new service philosophy – more red, white, and red, meaning more products sourced from Austria. International spirit suppliers have been replaced by local producers, allowing Business Class passengers to taste fine beverages from different regions of the country.
The new gin on board is “Gin X1” from Apetlon in Burgenland, while herbal liqueur lovers will appreciate the classic “Gurktaler” from Carinthia. Whisky enthusiasts can enjoy the “Roggenhof Whisky Single Malt” from the Haider distillery in the Waldviertel region, and vodka fans will find “Ignaz Vodka” from Lustenau. Those with a sweet tooth can indulge in the chocolate liqueur “Mozartlikör” from Salzburg.
Traditional port wine has been replaced with a local dessert wine, and all wines served on board now come exclusively from Austrian producers.
Local Flavor from Takeoff to Landing
The Austrian touch can be seen – and tasted – not only in the spirits. For years, Vöslauer has supplied mineral water, and Rauch provides fruit juices for Austrian Airlines. The iconic herbal lemonade Almdudler completes the non-alcoholic beverage offering, creating a truly “red-white-red” in-flight experience. Of course, international classics such as tonic and cola remain available on board as well.
With these updates, Austrian Airlines further emphasizes its roots and authentic Austrian character – both in cuisine and onboard service. Every Business Class flight is now not just a journey to another destination, but also a culinary voyage through the finest flavors of Austria.
