Ryanair launches flights from Modlin to Milan Malpensa

From October 26, 2025, Ryanair will operate flights from Modlin Airport to Milan. This time the route leads to Malpensa Airport, which is closer to the city center than Bergamo, previously the only Milan option. Flights will initially run six times per week and become daily from mid-November, offering a convenient option for short breaks in Italy’s fashion capital.
What changes with the new route?
The connection gives travelers more comfort. Malpensa offers faster access to central Milan and serves as a gateway to popular destinations such as Lake Como and Lake Garda. Passengers can also combine airports, flying into Malpensa and returning from Bergamo.
Why is Ryanair expanding in Modlin?
The new route is part of Ryanair’s broader strategy. The airline plans to double passenger numbers at Modlin within a year and triple them by 2030. In 2026, it will also base three additional aircraft there. For travelers, this means more destinations and more frequent flights.
Who else is competing in Modlin?
Wizz Air is also returning to Modlin after a 13-year break. The carrier announced several routes to Italy, Spain, Greece, Bulgaria, Moldova, Cyprus, and Malta. This competition may lead to lower fares and more choice for Polish passengers.
