Historic Result for LOT
July 2025 was the best month in the 96-year history of LOT Polish Airlines. The national carrier transported a record number of passengers, performed over 11 thousand flight operations, and covered a distance equivalent to more than 400 laps around the Earth.
During the summer month, 1,185,946 passengers traveled with LOT, marking the highest monthly figure in the company’s history. The fleet completed 11,072 flight operations – an average of more than 350 flights per day. Aircraft spent 25,623 block hours in the air, nearly 1,000 hours more than the previous record set in July 2019. The total distance flown by the fleet amounted to 15.5 million kilometers – the equivalent of more than 20 round trips to the Moon.
Most Popular Routes
In the European route segment, the most popular destinations were Vilnius, London, and Amsterdam. For long-haul connections, the leaders were Toronto, New York (JFK), and Chicago.
The growing number of passengers is the result of consistent expansion of the route network. In 2025, LOT launched, among others, the following routes:
- Kraków – Paris Orly
- Warsaw – Thessaloniki, Malta, Reykjavik, Lisbon
In the autumn, Marrakesh and Rovaniemi will be added to the offer, with more destinations to be announced later this year.
As Michał Fijoł, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines, emphasized:
– This record-breaking month is the result of the entire team’s work and proof that our growth strategy, based on the hub model, is delivering results. Ahead of us is further network development and new aircraft that will strengthen the fleet and allow us to carry even more passengers.
Growth Strategy and Fleet Investments
LOT is consistently strengthening the transfer offer at Chopin Airport, where approximately 60% of passengers are now transit travelers.
The national carrier’s growth is supported by fleet modernization and expansion. Later this year, the first of 13 ordered Boeing 737 MAX 8s will arrive in Warsaw directly from the Seattle factory. There are also plans to introduce Airbus A220 aircraft.
LOT – A Polish Brand Recognized Worldwide
The Polish carrier operates direct long-haul flights to the USA, Canada, India, Japan, and South Korea, using modern Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Present on the market since 1929, LOT is the 11th oldest airline in the world and one of the most internationally recognized Polish brands.
