Flights from Bydgoszcz to Frankfurt Have Taken Off

Starting Sunday, April 27, 2025, travelers can once again fly from Bydgoszcz Airport to Frankfurt am Main. Located in the state of Hesse, Frankfurt Airport is one of the largest transit hubs in Europe and a major base for Lufthansa. This long-awaited connection gives residents of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region access to hundreds of destinations worldwide – from New York and Cape Town to Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro.

Flight Schedule

Lufthansa returns to Bydgoszcz after a multi-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Flights from the capital of the Kuyavian region to Frankfurt will operate five times a week. Departures from Bydgoszcz Airport take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 2:35 PM, and on Fridays at 2:50 PM. The flight to Frankfurt takes only 90 minutes, and the schedule is aligned with Frankfurt Airport’s outbound waves, ensuring convenient connections to further international destinations.

“Resuming flights to Frankfurt is not just a convenience for passengers but also a development boost for the entire region,” said Rhonen Azoulay, General Manager Sales Poland and Czech Republic at Lufthansa Group Airlines. “Lufthansa connects people, cultures, and economies. We’re delighted to be back in Bydgoszcz.”

Opportunities for Business Growth

The return of this strategic connection is also great news for entrepreneurs, academic institutions, and cultural circles in Kuyavia and Pomerania. Improved transport accessibility may significantly impact investment development, international cooperation, and global promotion of the region.

This is a chance for a new level of international mobility for our region,” emphasizes Zbigniew Ostrowski, Deputy Marshal of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. “Thanks to these flights, Kuyavia and Pomerania are now closer to the entire world.”

The Frankfurt connection opens doors not only for business and science but also for tourism. Passengers can now conveniently plan exotic holidays or city breaks in the world’s largest metropolises – without having to travel long distances to other airports.

This is a huge benefit for residents and an attractive investment for our city,” said Rafał Bruski, Mayor of Bydgoszcz. “Frankfurt is a gateway to over 200 destinations around the globe.”

For Toruń – a strong academic and cultural hub – a direct link to a major European airport means even greater opportunities for cooperation with international partners.

This is an investment in development and regional integration with Europe and the world,” said Paweł Gulewski, Mayor of Toruń.

Development of Bydgoszcz Airport

Bydgoszcz Airport continues to grow. As noted by Monika Mejsner-Hermelin, CEO of Bydgoszcz Airport S.A., the increase in passenger numbers and destinations shows that the regional airport is ready for new challenges. “Thanks to Lufthansa flights, passengers can start even the most distant journeys right here in Bydgoszcz,” she adds.

Frankfurt: The Key to Global Travel with Lufthansa

Frankfurt am Main is not only Europe’s financial capital but, above all, a global aviation hub that offers connections to hundreds of international flights daily. For residents of Kuyavia and Pomerania, this means easy access to nearly every continent – without the need for time-consuming travel to Warsaw, Gdańsk, or Poznań.
