Ryanair to Significantly Expand Operations in Modlin – Ambitious Plans Through 2030
Ryanair has announced the signing of a new long-term agreement with Modlin Airport, marking a major step forward in the airline's development strategy in Poland. Under the terms of the deal, the Irish carrier aims to triple its annual passenger volume from the airport—from the current 1.5 million to over 5 million by 2030. The most rapid growth, however, is expected over the next year.
By 2026, Ryanair will base three additional aircraft in Modlin, bringing the total number stationed there to seven. This expansion will enable the launch of at least seven new routes and an increase in flight frequencies on many existing ones. As a result, passenger traffic is projected to rise to between 2.5 and 3 million next year alone.
The airline’s broader vision extends even further. By the end of the decade, Ryanair plans to operate 25 new routes from Modlin and create around 200 new jobs, covering both flight and ground crew positions. To support this growth, the airport itself has committed to a significant infrastructure upgrade.
The planned expansion includes enlarging the passenger terminal to provide a total of eight check-in desks, as well as constructing four new aircraft parking stands. All construction is scheduled to be completed by September 2027, ensuring the airport can accommodate the anticipated increase in traffic while improving the overall travel experience.
