LOT Brings Back Free Alcoholic Beverages and Juices on Short-Haul Flights

LOT Polish Airlines has expanded its complimentary onboard offering. On all flights lasting between 1.5 and 4 hours, passengers now receive beer, wine, or juice included in the ticket price. This is another step in the airline’s ongoing product refresh—just a few days ago, LOT introduced its own branded snack bars, replacing the well-known Grześki bars.

The expanded beverage selection is not entirely new. LOT tested it last year on five selected European routes—Istanbul, Barcelona, Madrid, Amsterdam, and Paris—and the feedback was positive. As a result, all short-haul passengers can now enjoy a choice of alcoholic or juice beverages served alongside a snack, in addition to the previously available water, coffee, and tea. Sugary soft drinks and stronger spirits remain available for purchase.

It’s worth noting that complimentary meals and drinks were once standard on LOT’s short-haul flights. However, in August 2013, the airline discontinued the service as part of a cost-cutting and restructuring program. The recent return of free alcoholic beverages and juices signals both a renewed focus on passenger experience and growing confidence in the airline’s financial stability.
