The new Austrian Airlines airport lounge in the non-Schengen area in Vienna
Refreshed design, more privacy, and culinary pleasures
The newly opened Austrian Airlines lounge areas in the non-Schengen zone at Vienna Airport now offer travelers the highest standard of service in a modern interior design. Guests can enjoy enhanced privacy and a distinctive culinary offering. The new lounge can accommodate up to 180 guests. HON Circle members have access to an exclusive area with personalized service. It is estimated that the lounge will welcome around 800 passengers daily.
Cozy interiors and Austrian hospitality
The design of the new non-Schengen lounge incorporates natural, high-quality, tactile materials in warm, earthy tones. The style reflects a modern take on timeless classics. A combination of Austrian Thonet design chairs featuring signature red accents and comfortable oval armchairs ensures greater privacy, improved comfort for work, and relaxation. Soft carpets and a refined lighting concept in various zones add to the relaxing ambiance. The lounge décor is inspired by Austria’s diverse landscapes and cultural identity. The new concept was developed by Austrian Airlines’ Brand Management & Customer Experience team in cooperation with the Vienna-based architecture and interior design studio Archisphere.
Dining area with a café corner
The existing food and beverage service in the Austrian Airlines lounge has been expanded to include a café-style area offering coffee and cake.
Opening hours
The Austrian Airlines lounge in Vienna is located in the non-Schengen zone near G gates on level 3. The new lounge areas are open daily from 5:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Until the planned completion of the South Terminal expansion in 2027, non-Schengen passengers will be welcomed in the spaces near the former G01 and G03 gates. During the construction period, guests will benefit from faster access to their departure gate and a panoramic view of the airfield. Once construction is complete, the lounge will move to a new, centrally located space. An automated access control system has also been introduced (including access for accompanying guests), and in the future, access via Star Alliance biometric entry will be possible.
