First Lufthansa Flight to Denver Operated by Airbus A380

For the first time, Lufthansa is launching a connection to the American city of Denver using the world’s largest passenger aircraft – the Airbus A380. The inaugural flight to the capital of Colorado, located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, will take place on April 30, 2025. With this, Denver becomes the sixth destination served by the A380 from Munich.

Flight Schedule

Starting next summer, there will be a daily flight from Munich to Denver. The Airbus A380 will take off from Munich Airport at 11:15 AM as flight LH480 and land in Denver at 1:45 PM local time. The return flight is scheduled to depart at 4:15 PM, arriving in Munich at 10:50 AM the following day.

Comfort and Space

“This is a historic moment not only for Lufthansa but also for Denver Airport – for the first time in history, a regular flight operated by an aircraft of this size will land there. The Airbus A380 is immensely popular among passengers, crew, and airport visitors. It offers an exceptional travel experience and the most premium-class seats of any aircraft in our fleet,” said Heiko Reitz, Chief Commercial Officer of Lufthansa Airlines.

From A380 to NYC, Boston, Washington, Los Angeles, Delhi

In the summer season of 2025, Lufthansa will have eight Airbus A380 aircraft based in Munich. These will serve six long-haul destinations: New York (JFK), Boston, Washington, Los Angeles, Delhi, and Denver. Each A380 offers a total of 509 seats: 8 in First Class, 78 in Business Class, 52 in Premium Economy, and 371 in Economy Class.
