Poland’s Growing Popularity: More Tourists in Hotels, Especially from Abroad

Data from Poland's Central Statistical Office (GUS) shows a significant increase in the number of tourists staying in Polish hotels, particularly among foreign visitors. Between January and August 2024, a total of 20 million people stayed in Poland’s accommodations, marking a 4% increase compared to the previous year. Of these, 15.45 million were domestic tourists, while 4.56 million were international guests. The figures reveal a growing trend of interest in Poland as a travel destination, with the summer of 2024 proving especially attractive to both domestic and foreign travelers.

During the peak summer months (July-August), 6.31 million guests stayed in Polish hotels. The increase was most noticeable among foreign visitors, whose numbers rose by 14% compared to the same period last year. Poland is not only drawing the attention of local travelers but is also attracting a greater number of international visitors. This positive development could be attributed to the rising appeal of Polish cities and tourist spots, as well as promotional efforts positioning Poland as a desirable summer destination.

The rise in foreign guest numbers may also be linked to improvements in tourism infrastructure and the expanding network of flight connections that make traveling to Poland more accessible. The overall 8% growth in tourist numbers compared to last summer highlights Poland's increasing popularity as a destination on Europe's tourism map.
