Green Fares on European Flights
If you book green fares on European routes, 20% of CO2 emissions from each flight will be reduced through the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The remaining 80% will be allocated to high-quality climate protection projects.
Green Fares on Intercontinental Routes
Austrian Airlines also offers green fares on selected intercontinental routes operated by Lufthansa Group.
Travelers can choose from Economy Green, Premium Eco Green, Business Green, or First Green on intercontinental routes. 10% of individual CO2 emissions related to the flight will be reduced through the use of SAF, and the remaining 90% will be compensated through contributions to climate protection projects.
Green fares are available on the following routes: Frankfurt–Bangalore, Munich–Incheon, Brussels–Kinshasa, Zurich–Los Angeles, Frankfurt–Miami, Singapore–London, São Paulo–Zurich, Nairobi–Frankfurt, Bangkok–Vienna, Hong Kong–London, and Paris–Bangkok.
Sustainable Aviation Fuel
Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is a type of aviation fuel produced from renewable resources such as biomass waste, vegetable oils, animal fats, and synthetic chemicals. The goal of SAF is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional petroleum-based aviation fuel.
