Spring Changes in the PKP Intercity Timetable from Warsaw

Starting 8 March, a new adjustment to the 2025/2026 annual timetable prepared by PKP Intercity will come into effect. The changes will be in place until 13 June and will include both new weekend connections from Warsaw and route modifications for selected trains due to infrastructure modernization works.

New Weekend Connection Warsaw – Olsztyn

From 8 March 2026, passengers will benefit from a new weekend service on the Warsaw – Olsztyn route. The IC Sielawa train will provide additional seating, especially during the spring long weekends.

This connection will be operated by a modern ED160 electric multiple unit, ensuring a comfortable and efficient journey. The new service aims to make planning short spring trips to the Masurian Lakes easier and to improve travel options from the capital to the Warmia-Masuria region.

More Connections to the Coast – via Warsaw to the Tricity

In March, a new weekend connection IC Meduza will also be launched on the Łódź – Tricity – Łódź route, running via Warsaw. The train will consist of modernized carriages offering a high standard of travel.

This new service responds to the growing demand for trips to the Baltic Sea during spring. Additional seats are intended to relieve the busiest trains and increase flexibility in travel planning.

Major Changes in the South – Detours via CMK

Modernization of the railway line between Sędziszów and Kraków will require all EIP and EIC category trains, as well as 11 selected IC and TLK trains, to be routed on a detour via Zawiercie and Trzebinia.

Additionally, due to works on the Kielce – Skarżysko-Kamienna section, some trains running to and from Warsaw will be diverted via the Central Railway Line (CMK), bypassing Piaseczno, Warka, Radom, and Skarżysko-Kamienna. These changes will affect, among others, connections to Kraków and Olsztyn.

At the same time, from 8 March, three pairs of trains on the Lublin – Kraków – Lublin route via Kielce will resume: IC Sztygar, IC Jadwiga, and IC Morcinek, which were previously partially served by replacement bus services.

Disruptions on Routes from Warsaw to Katowice and Wrocław

Until 13 June, modernization works will be extended on the Częstochowa – Radomsko – Piotrków Trybunalski – Koluszki section. As a result, trains on the Warsaw – Katowice – Warsaw and Warsaw – Wrocław – Warsaw routes traveling via Piotrków Trybunalski will be rerouted via the Central Railway Line.

Changes will also affect connections from Łódź to Katowice and Kraków. Some trains will take detours via Pabianice or Tomaszów Mazowiecki. Selected trains, including IC Cegielski, IC Chemik, IC Konopnicka, IC Oleńka, IC Łużyce, and IC Fredro, will continue to serve Piotrków Trybunalski and Radomsko on the primary route.

Passenger Support

During the implementation of the spring timetable adjustment, mobile PKP Intercity information staff will be available at major stations across Poland. They will assist passengers in finding the correct platform, planning transfers, and providing all necessary travel information.

The spring timetable changes offer both new travel opportunities from Warsaw and temporary disruptions due to infrastructure modernization. The carrier emphasizes that these investments aim to improve the quality and comfort of travel in the future.
