New PLL LOT Air Route Connects Warsaw with Oradea

PLL LOT łączy Warszawę z Oradeą

PLL LOT introduce a new route, enabling travelers to journey between Warsaw and Oradea. The inaugural flight to this Romanian city will take off on June 3, 2024. Flights to Oradea will be operated four times a week throughout the year, providing a consistent connection between these locations. Oradea will become the third Romanian destination in the PLL LOT flight network, expanding the already existing connections to Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.

The new air route commences on June 3, offering flights four times a week both in the summer and winter seasons. Flights to Oradea will occur on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. On Wednesdays and Fridays, flight LO655 will depart from Warsaw at 11:25, with the return flight LO656 departing from Oradea at 14:35. Meanwhile, on Mondays and Saturdays, flight LO657 will depart from Warsaw at 14:30, with the return flight LO658 departing from Oradea at 17:40. The connection will be serviced by comfortable Embraer 170 and 175 aircraft, providing travelers with approximately 1.5 hours of flight time.

Furthermore, Oradea becomes the third Romanian destination in the PLL LOT scheduled flight network, opening up new travel opportunities for residents of the Bihor region. Robert Ludera, Director of the Network Office at PLL LOT, emphasizes that residents gain not only a connection to Warsaw but also convenient connections to other airports in Poland, Western Europe, and North America.

Oradea, located in northwestern Romania, attracts tourists with its rich baroque, Secessionist, and socialist-realist architecture. Additionally, the surrounding area offers the chance to explore nearby natural areas such as the Apuseni Mountains. Travelers to Oradea will have the opportunity to sample local delicacies such as sarmale (stuffed cabbage rolls), placinta (traditional pies), and warm papanasi donuts.

In striving to expand the network with 20 new connections, PLL LOT aspires to be the top choice for passengers in Poland and Central-Eastern Europe. Collaboration with the Bihor region under the Public Service Obligation formula facilitates the operation of these flights. Moreover, since March 31, 2024, Romania has been part of the Schengen Area, eliminating the need for border control and expediting the passenger clearance process.
