Expansion of Wizz Air Fleet

Rozwój floty Wizz Air

The low-cost airline Wizz Air has announced an acceleration in its development by delivering its 200th aircraft to its fleet.

After reaching a record number of passengers in 2023, Wizz Air continues to expand its route network, currently having ordered over 300 Airbus A321neo and A321XLR aircraft. This strategic move aims to achieve a fleet expansion plan to 500 aircraft by 2030.

The new Airbus A321neo, valued at over 100 million euros, will be assigned to London Luton Airport, with its inaugural flights from London Luton to Bacău, Romania.

Fully utilizing the latest technologies, the Airbus A321neo offers significant environmental benefits, enabling flights using a blend of up to 50% SAF, resulting in nearly 50% noise reduction, 20% fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions reduction, and 50% reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions compared to previous generations of aircraft.

By increasing the average age of its fleet to 4.24 years, Wizz Air ranks second in the world in terms of youthfulness among over 100 airlines.

Sasha Vislaus, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, emphasized: "We are extremely excited to introduce the 200th aircraft into our fleet. We invest solely in the latest technologies, and our new A321neo ensures that our fleet remains modern and comfortable while helping to fulfill our environmental protection commitments. We see increasing demand for more flights to various destinations in Europe, and the new aircraft will help us meet this demand by delivering even more passengers to their favorite places at the most favorable prices."
