By the end of June 2025, the fleet of the national carrier LOT will be expanded by 11 new Boeing B737-8 MAX aircraft, announced CEO Michał Fijoł.

The Polish carrier plans to acquire 11 new narrow-body aircraft from the American manufacturer to strengthen its fleet, which currently consists of 11 similar jetliners. The first three aircraft will be delivered from the beginning of the summer season, from late March to mid-2024, with the remaining eight by June 2025. The new aircraft will feature a slightly different configuration, new colors, and more comfortable seats.

The Boeing aircraft will be acquired through operational leasing from renowned leasing companies such as ACG, ALC, and McGuire, allowing LOT to have flexibility in fleet management.

After the delivery of the new aircraft, LOT will have a total of 86 jetliners, provided that all currently operated aircraft remain in service. As a result, the number of available seats on LOT aircraft will increase by over 2,000, reaching a total of 13,500 seats.

Expanding the fleet is a key element of LOT's strategy for the years 2024-2028, which envisages having approximately 110 aircraft by the end of this period. LOT also commits to repay the public aid received from the Polish government by the end of 2027 according to the plan.
