Ryanair gains as many as 2,725 new slots at Chopin Airport

Low-cost airlines from Ireland are planning flights from Warsaw to destinations such as Bari, Birmingham, Bologna, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Helsinki, Cologne, Leeds/Bradford, London (Luton and Stansted), Pula, Rome-Ciampino, Tenerife, Madrid, Milan-Bergamo, and Thessaloniki.

Chopin Airport, as a coordinated airport (with slot allocation responsibility handled by an external entity), received applications for a total of 15,707 slots from Ryanair, Buzz, and Ryanair UK. As a result, 2,725 slots were granted, representing 17.34% of the requested number. However, this is not the end, as Buzz, with 664 requested slots, gained 284, and Ryanair (the main airline) with 14,803 requested slots, received only 2,321. Meanwhile, Ryanair UK obtained half of the 240 requested slots.

Irish airlines have clearly expressed their ambitions at Chopin Airport, currently offering flights to six cities in five countries. According to the slot report, it would be possible to connect Warsaw with destinations such as Bari, Birmingham, Bologna, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Helsinki, Cologne, Leeds/Bradford, London (Luton and Stansted), Pula, Rome-Ciampino, Tenerife, Madrid, Milan-Bergamo, and Thessaloniki.

The highest number of slots were allocated for routes to London Stansted (210), Rome-Ciampino (180), and London Luton (150). This marks another step in Ryanair's expansion, opening up new travel opportunities for residents of Warsaw and surrounding areas.
