Icelandair launches first regular flights in Poland from Gdańsk

From September 18, 2026, Icelandair will begin regular flights between Gdańsk and Keflavík International Airport in Iceland. This will be the airline’s first scheduled connection in Poland. Flights will operate three to four times a week using Boeing 737-MAX8 aircraft.
A new route and new opportunities
The Gdańsk–Keflavík connection marks Icelandair’s debut on the Polish market. According to the airline, flights will start in September 2026. From Gdańsk, passengers will be able to travel directly to Iceland or connect to North America via Keflavík.
The new route is important not only for tourism. For the large Polish community living in Iceland, it will also make travel between the two countries easier. Icelandair’s management describes the launch as a milestone in the company’s expansion in Central and Eastern Europe.
Gdańsk joins Icelandair’s European destinations
With this route, Gdańsk will join other European cities served by Icelandair, such as London, Paris, Berlin and Copenhagen. The airline expects that the Polish market will become an important source of both tourist and business traffic.
As CEO Bogi Nils Bogason emphasized, Iceland aims to strengthen its role as a regional hub for travelers from Europe seeking convenient connections to North America.
