PKP Intercity Adds Poznań–Olsztyn and Gorzów Trains
PKP Intercity will add new services from Poznań to Olsztyn and Gorzów Wielkopolski from 4 September 2026. Its autumn timetable adjustment takes effect on 30 August 2026, while IC Gryf will be extended to Ełk and temporarily to Białystok from 1 September 2026. Spychowo will become a PKP Intercity long-distance stop for the first time.
Seventh train pair on Poznań–Olsztyn
IC Gopło will start operating between Poznań and Olsztyn on 4 September 2026. The journey will take 3 hours 18 minutes, and the new train will become the seventh pair of services on the route.
The train will stop in Gniezno, Inowrocław, Toruń, Iława and Ostróda, among other stations. The consist will include first- and second-class seating and a COMBO coach. The coach is adapted for passengers with disabilities and includes a family compartment, bicycle spaces and vending machines for snacks and drinks.
About 90 minutes to Gorzów
A new IC service between Poznań and Gorzów Wielkopolski will also start on 4 September 2026. Stops will include Krzyż, Nowe Drezdenko and Zwierzyn. The full journey will take about 90 minutes.
The route will use an SD85 unit. It has first- and second-class seating, fold-down tables, space for larger groups and bicycles, air conditioning and power sockets.
IC Gryf will stop in Spychowo
From 1 September 2026, IC Gryf, currently running between Szczecin and Olsztyn, will continue to Ełk. The service will run beyond Ełk to Białystok until mid-December 2026.
The extended route will include Szczytno, Ruciane-Nida, Pisz, Biała Piska, Ełk, Grajewo, Osowiec, Mońki and Spychowo. Spychowo will receive a PKP Intercity long-distance stop for the first time.
Fares from Ełk and Pisz to the Tricity area start at PLN 19. The lowest stated fare from Pisz to Szczecin is PLN 24, while tickets from Ełk to Szczecin start at PLN 29.
Warsaw–Kraków cut to 2 hours 15 minutes
The infrastructure manager is completing work on railway line No. 8 between Warsaw and Kraków in August 2026. Trains currently using diversionary routes will return to the main line from September 2026.
The fastest Pendolino journey between Warsaw and Kraków currently takes 2 hours 46 minutes. From September, the journey will take 2 hours 15 minutes, around half an hour less. For business travel between the two cities, the change reduces scheduled rail journey time.
Replacement buses return on two sections
Works on railway line No. 404 will resume from 14 September to 24 October 2026. IC Zamoyski from Kołobrzeg to Lublin, IC Malczewski to Kraków and IC Kossak to Przemyśl will run via Koszalin, increasing their journey times.
Passengers on IC Bosman to Wrocław and IC Staszic to Warsaw will use replacement buses between Kołobrzeg and Białogard. Replacement buses will also operate between Jelenia Góra and Szklarska Poręba from 31 August to 24 October 2026 because of works on railway line No. 311.
