Warsaw Chopin Airport Breaks Records — Over 1.8 Million Passengers in November and First Time 22 Million in a Year

In November 2025, Warsaw’s Chopin Airport recorded its best results in more than 90 years. The airport handled 1,808,639 passengers — a 13 % increase compared to the same month last year — and for the first time in its history surpassed 22 million passengers in a single year. This reflects growing travel demand and an expanding route network.
November Results and Annual Record
November was the busiest month ever for the Warsaw airport. The 1,808,639 passengers represent a 13 % year-on-year increase. During the month, there were 14,977 flight operations (take-offs and landings), up 10 % from November 2024. A high load factor of 79.9 % shows strong travel demand.
On 28 November, the airport reached another milestone by surpassing 22 million passengers in a year for the first time. The symbolic 22,222,222nd passenger was Jean-Daniel Szymczak, arriving from Lyon on a LOT Polish Airlines flight.
Traffic by Routes and Airlines
Among all passengers, 1,164,887 traveled within the Schengen area and 643,752 beyond it. Traditional carriers accounted for over three quarters of the traffic. Low-cost carriers’ share grew significantly, with passenger numbers up 28.5 % year-on-year.
Cargo traffic also grew, with over 12 tons of freight handled — a 17.1 % increase compared to the previous year.
New and Seasonal Routes
In November, LOT Polish Airlines launched year-round flights to Stavanger in Norway, operating four times a week. Three days later, a seasonal route to Rovaniemi in Finland began, with flights twice weekly until 1 February 2026.
