The ibis brand celebrates its 50th anniversary
The hotel brand ibis is celebrating its 50th anniversary by offering budget-friendly hotel services to a wide audience. The portfolio includes over 2,500 properties in 79 countries, including a new hotel in Iceland, marking the brand's entry into its 80th market. The first ibis hotel opened in Bordeaux in 1974, and the network has since expanded across the globe.
In 2012, Accor established the ibis family of brands, encompassing three entities: ibis, ibis Styles (formerly All Seasons), and ibis Budget (formerly Etap Hotel). Since then, the number of properties has surpassed 1,600, and in recent years, the portfolio has grown by another 1,000 hotels.

In honor of the anniversary, the brand is introducing new core values and support programs for employees. Additionally, it is launching a campaign to highlight the achievements of teams and communities worldwide.
According to Karelle Lamouche, Chief Commercial Officer at Accor, the ibis brand redefines the hospitality industry by providing high-quality services accessible to all customers, regardless of their budget.
