From the new year, without a visa to Kenya

Starting from the beginning of the new year, Kenya opens its doors to travelers from all around the world, abolishing the visa requirement.

In celebration of the 60th anniversary of independence, President William Ruto announced a groundbreaking decision. From January 2024, citizens of all nations will no longer need to apply for a visa to explore the charms of the country. The government anticipates that this initiative will contribute to the dynamic growth of tourism in Kenya.

"From January 2024, Kenya will become a visa-free destination for every traveler. Anyone wishing to visit our country will no longer be burdened by tedious visa procedures. We send a simple message to humanity: Welcome home! The experience of crossing borders without visa hurdles is well-known to our European friends who have visited us in the past. Therefore, we proudly declare this historic decision," said President Ruto.

Furthermore, the president emphasized scientific evidence indicating that humanity originates from the East African regions, including present-day Kenya. Therefore, Kenya feels honored and proud to open its borders to travelers from various corners of the world, allowing them to discover the roots of humanity in this beautiful area.

We draw joy and optimism from this decision, ushering in a new chapter of cooperation and understanding between nations.

Until now, citizens of 47 countries could visit Kenya without a visa for either 30 or 90 days. This group predominantly consisted of African countries and former British colonies. It is worth noting that citizens of other countries still require an electronic visa. However, with the upcoming change, starting January 2024, these restrictions will become a thing of the past, and the country will transform into a visa-free haven for travelers from every corner of the globe.
