Modlin posts PLN 14 million profit after seven months

Warsaw Modlin Airport posted PLN 14 million in net profit after the first seven months of 2026, CEO Jacek Kowalski said during the Air Market Congress. The result contrasts with 2025, when the airport recorded a net loss of more than PLN 28 million.
PLN 14 million profit after seven months
Kowalski said the positive result means Modlin is no longer operating under a permanently loss-making model. The figure covers the first seven months of 2026, and the airport has not yet published a full-year result.
From January through July 2026, the airport handled 2.3 million passengers and recorded 15,486 aircraft movements.
Passenger traffic up 150.1% after eight months
By the end of August 2026, Modlin had handled 2.7 million passengers. In the same period of 2025, traffic was just under 1.1 million. That equals a 150.1% year-on-year increase.
The higher traffic coincided with improved financial performance. Passenger volumes alone do not determine net profit, which also reflects the airport’s costs.
2025 ended with a net loss above PLN 28 million
The seven-month 2026 result contrasts with recent annual results. Modlin ended 2025 with a net loss of more than PLN 28 million. In 2024, the net loss was PLN 412,000.
In 2023, the airport reported PLN 14.5 million in net profit. That result was affected by a one-off settlement with Erbud, while the airport’s core operations remained loss-making. In 2022, Modlin reported a net loss of just under PLN 349,000.
Full-year 2026 result not yet known
The seven-month profit improves Modlin’s financial position, but does not determine the full-year 2026 result. The available figures show the company was profitable through July, while passenger traffic through August was substantially higher than a year earlier.
