eTravel enters Romania through investment in Accent Travel & Events

On 25 August 2026, eTravel acquired a 90% stake in Accent Travel & Events, an established independent company in Romania’s Business Travel Management market. Accent Travel has operated since 1999 and employs around 60 people. The transaction brings eTravel into Romania and expands the Group’s presence in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).

The investment combines Accent Travel’s local market knowledge and experience with eTravel’s technology, regional scale and product portfolio. The Group is expanding its presence in the region while retaining Accent Travel’s local expertise and continuity of client service.

Romania is the next step in CEE expansion

The entry into Romania is part of eTravel’s strategy to expand further across Central and Eastern Europe. Combining the capabilities of both companies increases their capacity to serve corporate clients and develop business travel management services.

Andrzej Wierzba, President of the Management Board of eTravel, said the company is entering Romania alongside a strong and experienced partner.

Accent Travel brings years of local market experience and established relationships with clients and partners. eTravel adds its technology, regional operating scale, products and integrations for business travel management.

The transaction is also part of eTravel’s regional strategy, supported by Enterprise Investors. The Romanian operation expands the Group’s capacity to serve clients active across multiple CEE markets.

Technology and broader options for clients

One area of cooperation will be access for Accent Travel clients to eTravel’s technology and product portfolio, including its proprietary Corporate Travel Assistant platform.

Lucian Boronea, CEO and founder of Accent Travel & Events, said the integration would bring tangible benefits for the company’s clients.

Integration with the eTravel ecosystem will broaden access to air and hotel content. This includes more carriers, low-cost airlines, NDC content, a larger hotel inventory and additional supplier integrations.

Clients will have a broader choice of content and access to tools supporting business travel management. Accent Travel will retain its local expertise as part of its service model.

Regional scale with local continuity

Accent Travel will continue to operate under its existing brand. Founder Lucian Boronea will remain a shareholder and CEO of the company.

This structure retains the experience of the local team and relationships built over the years while adding eTravel’s technology and product resources.

The investment in Accent Travel strengthens eTravel’s position as a technology platform for Business Travel Management in the region. In 2026, eTravel plans to handle more than 1.5 million bookings, including more than 700,000 airline tickets.

For eTravel, the transaction means further expansion in CEE and a presence in another regional market. Accent Travel gains access to broader technology and regional resources while retaining its local knowledge, team and client relationships.
