Poznań-Ławica to restrict flights during core night

Poznań-Ławica Airport will stop scheduling regular flight operations between 1:00 and 5:00 from October 25, 2026. The new core night rule is designed to limit activity in the most sensitive part of the night while keeping the airport operational around the clock.
Four hours without scheduled operations
The rule will take effect with the winter 2026/2027 timetable. Between 1:00 and 5:00, airlines will not be able to schedule regular take-offs or landings at Poznań-Ławica.
The airport will not close overnight. It will remain operational 24 hours a day, but the middle of the night will be removed from normal timetable planning.
Exceptions remain for safety and state flights
During the core night period, operations linked to safety, emergency response or state duties will still be allowed. The list includes state flights, such as military, police and Border Guard operations.
Emergency landings, humanitarian flights and rescue flights will also remain possible. The airport will also allow delayed operations caused by factors outside an airline’s control, provided they were originally scheduled outside the 1:00–5:00 window.
Passengers will need the final timetable
For passengers, the main change concerns flights in the middle of the night. From the winter 2026/2027 season, regular services should not be scheduled between 1:00 and 5:00.
The airport will remain open, so the core night rule does not mean that the terminal will close. For travel after October 25, 2026, the binding flight times will be those published by the airline and the airport in the current timetable.
Overnight aircraft stay outside the core period
According to the airport, airlines operating from Poznań need flexibility late in the evening and early in the morning. This matters in particular for routes based on aircraft staying overnight in Poznań.
The new rules separate traffic after 22:00 from operations in the middle of the night. The airport wants to keep room for route development while cutting the most disruptive night activity.
Final flight times matter for corporate travel
For corporate travel programmes, the final winter 2026/2027 timetable will matter most. The rule concerns the planning of flight operations, not passenger check-in procedures inside the terminal.
For travel managers, the practical focus will be on late arrivals, early departures and services that depend on aircraft overnighting in Poznań. These factors can affect the convenience of morning and evening business trips.
Housing growth shaped the decision
Poznań-Ławica Airport has operated in its current location for more than 100 years. In recent decades, housing development around the airport has increased the importance of noise limits.
According to airport president Grzegorz Bykowski, the change is meant to balance airport growth with the functioning of the city and the needs of nearby residents. The rule creates a separate four-hour period in which scheduled operations will not be planned.
